Frequently Asked Questions About Buying Cryogenic Equipment
Pricing depends on the tank type, capacity, pressure rating, condition (new vs. used/rehabbed), and gas service. A used 1,500-gallon vertical tank will cost significantly less than a new 9,000-gallon high-pressure fill plant station. Contact us with your specs, and we’ll provide a detailed quote typically within 24 hours.
A properly rehabbed used tank can deliver the same performance as new at a fraction of the cost. The key is buying from a supplier that inspects, vacuum tests, and reconditions equipment before selling it. At FireCryo, every used tank goes through that process. New equipment makes sense when you need a specific configuration or extended warranty coverage.
Our inventory includes portable vessels ranging from 500 gallons, micro bulk tanks in the 500–1,500-gallon range, and bulk storage tanks from 1,500 to 11,000+ gallons, available in both vertical and horizontal configurations. Larger units are available through our dealer network. CO₂ tanks range in size from 6 to 50 tons.
In many cases, yes. A tank originally in LIN service can often be cleaned and reconfigured for LOX or LAR, provided the correct piping, fittings, and safety devices are installed. Switching to or from CO₂ service may require additional modifications. We evaluate conversion feasibility on a case-by-case basis.
All pressure vessels we sell are built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 standards and carry code stamps. Transport-rated equipment meets DOT requirements, including MC-338 and CGA-341 certifications. National Board registration data is available for every tank.
